I know someone that was on here installed this>
I believe it was LIMagna, but I could be wrong..
Do a search and see if you can figure out who, then private message them...

Nope, wasn't me but you did find the right guy.  I remember Chad being a prolific poster and generally very knowledgeable guy on the 3rd gen forums.  I haven't heard a peep from him though in many years now.  I believe he sold his bike(s) when he bought a house and that's been that.

I have sent Chad an email, no response yet that I know of.  As far as the desire of wanting this part on,  I was having problems shifting from 2nd to 1st, so I ordered the kit....  Then before the kit came in I fixed the shifting problem and then $400 worth of shift kit came in and...……. well you probably know where it goes from there :-?     So now I can't get the bike to change out of whatever gear it is in( I put it in neutral before working on it, and had it all in and went to test to make sure it would go through all gears and now I'm where I am now...…)   Now I have a couple more ideas to try.  Thanks Guys   I will update as soon as I get a chance to work on it some more.      any idea on how to get it into neutral again so I can try to spin the guts from the right side?

Put in neutral, remove he circular cap on the clutch cover plate (Right side of the bike) and then you can use a socket to rotate the motor manually.
Is there a reason you are installing this part? I know the Magna shifting is pretty terrible and I believe CHAD said it did make a significant difference, but Just want to know if you were having an issue, or just wanted the improvement.

Send Chad a Private Message, maybe he has the same email to receive the message.

Turning the transmission without turning the rear wheel, maybe put the transmission in neutral and turning the clutch. Maybe the resistance in the transmission would move what you need to line this up.

The only way to not turn the rear wheel is having the bike in neutral other than removal of chain. Guessing they mean the countershaft sprocket does not need to be engaged so that is back to putting the bike in neutral.

Start searching youtube for videos, maybe someone will give you an idea how this is done. Then you can let us know.

This is a 3rd gen Magna

The instructions that came with the kit do not mention having to break the case open.  It seems like it should be pretty easy.  I know I must have read 200 post trying to figure out who and when have already did this to their bikes.  Chad from Michigan has indeed done this, but mentioned not the problem I have come across.  I'll check for LilMagna as well.   I did call the manufacturer for help and they only would repeat directly word for word what the instructions say...…."Turn the transmission WITHOUT the wheel moving OR vise versa."
unfortunately I am not sure how to turn the transmission by hand.....Suggestions Welcome.  I am very much looking forward to getting this little beauty running VERY Soon.   I pretty much maxed out the jetting and once I get this shift kit done, I plan on precision tuning the carbs due to it being pretty rich at idle and low end.    To all that are trying to help me with this THANK YOU SO MUCH.....

I thought the guy in Michigan put one on his bike also, he put some type of quick shift kit or something, Chad I think it was.
I'm sure a search would probably provide a result..
