Tires (Sorry)

I apologize for this ahead of time, but I'm ready for new tires and I'm a little confused by some of the old postings I've kept and reread. The stock Dunlop on my '95 Magna is a 150/80/15. I keep seeing people talk about the stock rear being a 170/80/15, which Dunlop does make. Did some of your bikes come with the 170 instead of the 150? Also, how much trouble is taking off the front tire to take it in to have the new tire done? I think I'll leave the rear on and let them do it. Thanks in advance.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think most of the references to the 170 are talking about the Metzeler tire.  There is a vast difference in size between the 150 Metz and the 150 Dunlop.  I (unwisely) stayed with 150 size when I switched to the Metz and after measuring both tires while on the rim and properly inflated the Metz was 1.25 inches narrower at the sidewall than the Dunlop!  My Metz got a large puncture and I'm back on the Dunlop for the rear.

I don't know what your skill level is so it is hard to answer your second question.  To me wheel removal on both ends is about as simple as it gets (I am assuming you are talking about a 3rd gen Magna).  I don't have bags so the rear is just as easy as the front to me.
