Anybody have an opinions they would like to share on aftermarket seats?  I have found that after about 30 mins of riding my tailbone starts to let me know he doesn't appreciate the stock Magna seat.  I was looking at the Mustang Wide Vintage Style 1 piece seat.  Just wanted to see what you guys out there had to say...

Wayne

I never had a problem with the stock seat (5'7" and 175 lbs).

I switched to the Mustang seat and it moved me up a few inches and back a few--tough on a short guy.  I put the seatback all the way forward, and it's nice.  I suppose getting the handlebars pushed back would help me.

Overall, I like it, but use the stock seat for around town.

The rear seat is much more comfortable, for passengers.

I have the mustang vintage and like it will really test it out on the run to MOOT rally this year... But so far I like it

If you ride much with a passenger I can say that the Mustang is absolutely the way to go PERIOD.
If you ride mostly solo then you have a another choice, Corbin, most folks either love or hate the Corbins.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone in the Houston area have a Corin Gunfighter seat on their 3rd generation Magna?  I'd love to go for ride and swap out the seats to see if I doesn't give me numb-butt.

I've looked that the Mustangs and they are my second choice for two reasons:
1. Their wide touring seat and big passenger seat domesticate the bike too much for me.
2. After track day, I especially like to be able to move around on my seat in the corners. I think the Corbin looks like it will be easier than the Mustang.

I'm going to have to get another seat before the trip to MootMag otherwise I won't be able to walk when I get there. :)

Bambam does get a hold of him he has the corbin and the mustang  which you know I have..... You are right about side to side in the turns a little slower with the mustang but still not bad and my butt loves the mustang......

Have any of you have experience with Saddlemen Travelcade seat? Specifically the Explorer model.

I have no experience with any of their seats. I have researched them though. Although they have quite a few listed the Explorer is the only one in production. Saddleman lists it for $389.95.

I really liked their Solo seat for the Magna, which looks like a comfortable version of the stock seat in one piece configuration, but it is not in production either. Hence the reason I am looking at the Corbin gunfighter.

I may be wrong about this but it seems I remember this topic being discussed on the Delphi board a couple of times about Saddlemen seats and if I remember correctly even though it's listed on the site they no longer make any Magna seats, even the Explorer.  They do pop up on eBay from time to time.

Well, I called them about a month ago, and that's where I got my information. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if the Saddlemen employee I talked to was mistaken, but he did actually look them up on the computer and said the Explorer was available. I guess the only way to really find out would be to try to buy it. :)

Bam Bam, sorry, I just saw your post. Thanks a lot. That would be great! I just  started planning a ride this Sunday with two other people. I'm introducing a friend of mine to someone else because my friend wants to try out his Honda Interceptor before he buys one. So it will be a V4 fest.

It will be a longer ride and a good time to test out another seat. You are welcome to join us. We plan to hit some roads that Tom told me about on the Northwest side up by Hempstead, Plantersville and Navasota.

Any other Mootsters up for it? We'll probably get started around 10:00 on Sunday? If there's some interest, I guess I'll post something in the Tavern section.

Anyone know of a pad to throw on the back of a corbin gunfighter so that i don't have to put the stock seat on my bike when she wants to go for a ride? I am not looking to spend 350 on another seat but don't like making her uncomfortable and i hate the stock seat... I was thinking if there is a way of putting the stock passenger seat temporarily on the corbin...

MagnaMan

I've heard good things about Airhawk pads but they will cost you about $150.
