I think you need to pull the battery and have it tested at a parts store.  I still think that is your problem.  Can't really tell about it until it is load tested, but the numbers look low to me.

I could be totally wrong on this, so some one jump in if I am. Voltage isn't everything, amperage need's to be there too. I believe you can have 12v show up and not have the amps to do much. Unless it is a sealed battery, you can check the fluid in the battery. Could be low or the specific gravity is off or something. Dan's idea is a good one, and I doubt there is a charge for it.

Hope I am right about the above and then I hope it helps.

Just seems like I'd see some kind of life on the "dash" when I turn on the key....  if it's putting out 13v

ThomasMagna You are correct.

Tighten battery terminal with wrench not screwdriver. I made that mistake once.
I wish I could be of help on a 86.

Ok, that would be a good subject to know more about.  When I was having problems with my 1980 BMW, I could "walk/rolling start" it when I had to.  It's so old it doesn't have all the safety checks that the Magna does.  Can you still do that on newer bikes?  ie, 96 Honda Magna.  Not that I really see the need for that yet, but it would be nice to know JIC.

Ok, what is that attached to the battery?  I go to respond, and 6 more responses show up in the time it takes me to write mine.  lol.

The problem is that the Magnas well the 3rd gens have electronic ignition and I think the others too but if the box does not have juice the bike won,t run and the voltage coming from the stator is not real clean voltage wise....

When I push started mine Friday, it "ran"  with about 1/2 throttle sputtering and backfiring at a top speed of about 15mph....   Both the gas and tail (both red) lights on the "dash" flickering.

I'm guessing that had to do with the electronic ignition not getting juice. but the engine firing kinda forcing it to lug along.

The tube running out of the side is a spill outlet, something I have not seen in a long time for battery juice overflow.
I want a magna battery also!!!

rats giving away my age again.   A coworker has an older bike with the suicide clutch on it.  That was a sight to see, I am trying to remember what it is, but I can't.   I see his old one, ride the '80 BMW, and I am SURE GLAD I have a '96 Magna.

Unfortunately the Magna Power battery did not bring her back to life

Still not dash lights when I turn on the key.

What about the fusible link by the solenoid? Has it been replaced with an inline fuse yet or still stock?

If you forget to turn off the key and drain the battery dead it will run but spit, spouter and cough and in general very embarrassing.  I took it to the front of the house and took it straight back and put it on the charger.  Then crawled to the truck in embarrassment and came into work. But that has not ever happened to me.

If the battery has the voltage but can not produce the amps to start it, you can push starting from a fast walk and you are on your way to the store to get a new battery with your head up high. But that has not ever happened to me also.

Jeff,
"What about the fusible link by the solenoid? Has it been replaced with an inline fuse yet or still stock?"

Are you talking about the starter relay?  if so it  has a 30amp fuse on the bottom of it.

Robert,
It's a brand new fully charged battery.  It think it's gotta be wires or switches....
