A few bits of advice sought

My 1984 V30 is still laid up whilst I await a head gasket but I've been assured it will be with me this week, but in the mean while I've been planning my next step with the bike and just wanted to run a few things past the site members.

1. The standard rectangle headlight is slightly corroded and I fancy replacing it with a chrome round one. Now I think I've seen a headlight mod for a newer magna somewhere, but I was wondering if any members have found a chrome light from a different model that's an easy(ish) fit on a vintage V30.

2. I was browsing e bay the other day and saw a set of fork seals cheap for the V30 I didn't really need em but got them none the less. Then one day later and despite not being moved or used in any way my bike is now gushing fork oil from one of the forks. So it looks like those seals will come in handy    I was just wondering are they straight forward to fit and is there any pitfalls I need to look out for?

3 I am thinking about doing the muffler mod on my bike and was wondering if any rejeting of the carbs is required. If so I may as well do them now whilst they are still off pending head gasket.

Also could someone offer an indication on how loud the bike will be after the mod. The reason I ask is I own a 1954 Norton ES2 (not sure if they made it over to the US) and after playing with the carb today I decided to give it a run or 3 round the block, Now its a 500cc single cylinder engine and as standard had a straight through pipe on it so it's very loud and I was riding down the street only for one of my neighbours to leap out in front of me and start shouting at me for ruining his Sunday with my noise pollution  :?  So If I could get a rough idea how loud the Magna will be it'd be appreciated.
