Bob,

Here are the headsets I use.

Look under Citizen Band. You have a column for Full Face and Open Face. I have the MC-751 Open Face. I didn't buy my set from him, I don't think....

If you want to see the setup, go to the top of the page and click on View The MotoComm Helmet Headset Illustration

It looks like alot of wires but all my wires are velcro-ed around my handle bar when in use. You have one wire from your helmet headset to a plug, one wire to your thumb mike switch, one wire to the CB.

Might try my CB with your headset to see if there is a difference.

I am looking for the photos of the lens polishing.

Bob
I have a set of the MC-751 Open Face headsets as well.
My wife and I used it for CB links when we would ride our bikes...

If I remember I'll bring a set down to Greg C's wrench session next Sat.
They work fairly well.....

The MC-751 Open Face Headset is what I'm thinking of getting prior to MM #6

Personal opinion from my use experience  [your mileage may vary]
I cant see the beginning of this thread so I don't know if the question is CB or music or Intercom-with-passenger related; so I'll touch on all three.
see related web page    https://www.rflimited.com/Site.asp?CID=3

For CB : The Motocom MC-751 headset works well for its primary purpose; that is to port sound from a CB to your ears. The Push to talk switch works great; is easy to mount and sound quality (depending on CB type) is loud and clear. I used a Cobra 38 handheld on my Magna; mounted using a RAM mount. Some road and wind noise from helmet would intrude occasionally but the volume on CB could usually compensate well.

For MP3/music ...not so well.... First you need an interface cable the MXR-1 [used to be AUX-1] to hook in the MP3 player. Then theres the sound...there is almost no bass depth to the speakers; since they're really meant for CB and intercom use. You -can- hear music but the quality can be tin-ny and the volume iffy or low depending on the headset out volume limiters on some (iPod) players. Some players (sandisk or creative) dont limit the earpiece volume and allow for more volume to override the wind noise across your helmet.

For Intercom with Passenger (plus added bonus of MP3 in, and CB in) there is the Motocom RiderLink ST-1. This is a all round hookup system. Not bad. You can mount the 'box' to your handlebar risers and cable out from there. This works well as adapter to communicate w passenger and, when only riding one-up, allows for hookups to MP3 player and CB at same time. The shortfall again is the speakers in the headset. They are same as in the MC 751, good for CB and intercom, but no real bass depth. Even though the ad text says   "Music Grade Speakers with Excellent Bass Response" and "Music Input with Built-In Amplifier (Adapter Cable Included)" Personal experience found the bass to be lacking and amplification to be negligible. I still have this system... if someone wants it I might be persuaded to let it go....It works well enough; just don't expect audio quality that can only be found in big full dresser bike intercom/stereo headsets with the big honking speakers.
