It has been a great three days here at Beavers Bend riding and hanging out. The scenery has been jaw dropping and the roads fast and twisty.

It rained last night, but is slowly drying out this morning. Greg is hoping to set up a skills riding session in a parking lot today. It has all gone too fast.

I will get some pictures posted after I return and hopefully sometime in the future, get my video edited for your viewing enjoyment.

Sorry you folks with conflicts couldn't make it. We have missed you.

All the Best,

This is a preliminary report not intended to include all details.

John III, Justin @ I rode our bikes to Beavers Bend with Lawrence Ragan & Joseph following with the remainder of the bikes in his ''6 bike'' stock trailer & Tina & Brittany in another truck with all the goodies. No problems, but be sure to fuel up before turning North on Hwy 259 off of I-30. Got to Beavers Bend where the Cotherns had established base camp. More MOOTsters arrived during the afternoon. MM6 kicked off with the usually sign-in and t-shirt distribution. The annual welcome dinner consisted off steak & chicken fajitas, charro beans, grilled chilis, tea and lemonade. Thursday's ride to Queen Wilhemina State Park in Arkansas was enjoyable and without mishap with lots of twisties and high altitude riding.  Friday's ride to Talimena, OK had lots more aggressive curves and was highlighted with lunch at Pam's Hateful Hussy diner in Talimena, but was marred by 3 disabled bikes; 2 failed rectifiers and boiled batteries on 3rd gen magnas & our own fearless leader's Valk showing cord on the rear tire. All fared well as
fellow MOOTsters rallied together to help each other out as they always do. Saturday was more of a free day with some choosing to ride and others opting for the parking lot obstacle course and still others spending the day fishing, (where Joseph caught a very nice rainbow). Closing ceremonies & awards were Saturday evening, and Greg was surprised with a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday' & a cake. More info will follow, since I'm writing this while riding home in the cab of Lawrence's truck. Can hardly wait to see the photos everyone will post.

C'mon MM7.....

I got in about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, got the bikes and truck unloaded, grabbed a bite and fell asleep for 3 hours. What a fantastic adventure this was. I hope to get some pictures posted in the next day and of course eventually edit out the video I shot.

Thanks to everyone for the hard work and camaraderie. A very successful event.

All the Best,

Dave

Quote& our own fearless leader's Valk showing cord on the rear tire.

I think that is a tradition with Greg.  At MOOTMAG in Kerrville he did the same thing and he babied it back to camp while the Queen hitched a ride on the back of Troy Curtis' Wing.  At MOOTMAG in Arkansas, he developed a lump on the front tire.  Since he knows better, I can't wait to hear his excuse this time.  :D :P :-? 8-) :-P

No excuses, I simply tried to stretch the life of the tire beyond its serviceable abilities!!
OK OK OK, I looked at the rear and said, "I can see tread bars, looks like it will last this trip!"
GUESS NOT!

HA HA HA HA, they'll fool you every time because they wear MUCH FASTER at the end for some reason.

Curtis

P.S.  I've got two used Avon rears in the shed that I don't even know why I'm keeping.  It seems they don't have enough tread to warrant putting them on, but they have too much for me to talk myself into throwing them away.

Thanks for a great time everyone. I really enjoyed riding Thursday with everyone :D...unfortunately, I had to ride back home thursday evening... I had missed phone calls from the wife when I got back from riding... my son had fallen off the jungle gym at summer camp and had to get 7 stitches and kept him overnight at the hospital because of the worry of concussion... he is  6.  So i felt it important to go back home to help my wife with the situation. I left at 7 pm from Broken Bow and got in at 9:45 in lowell.  My uncle and brother stayed until Saturday morning and brought their bikes back on the trailer. I hope next year will be better for me.. All you guys were awesome... I cant wait to see pictures... :-D  Lance

I'll do an actual post on this board tonight, but the BB code is slightly different on the MOOT and BN baords, so for now, I'll just post a link to the first part of the MM6 report. There's more to come as both Oldman and me had mechanical troubles.

They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. If that's true, I should be able to whip Superman's @$$ this morning. Seriously, we had a good time despite a few set backs.
Sharon and I got there Wednesday night right about 6:00 p.m.. We just had time to unhook the trailer, hook up the van, and dash over to register and hit the chow line.

The cooks

Waiting in line for tea.

Hot babe chowing down.

Just as we finished, this little truck came by with ice cream. Talk about timing.

Horny bike.

Skulls on the handle grips.

Here is the Flynn's little 97cc Pagsta.

Gasing up for the first ride.

This was one of those, "We've got it all," stores.
I'd rather be outside than in.

Leader for the scenic group on day one was easy to spot.

Just look for the ferocious tiger tail and ears.

Heading out North on US 259.

The roads were already nice, and we hadn't gotten to the good stuff yet.

Out of sequence shot taken back at the gas station.

"Where oh where is fearless leader? Oh! There he is."

When is the last time you saw an "ESSO" sign? I think this was in Smithville.

We stopped at the first scenic overlook heading up Rich mountain.

Here is  the road we'd just traveled.

It was hazy the whole time we were there. Even so, the vally was pretty.
I'd rather be outside than in.

Me and Sharon with the view behind us.

Closer shot of us.

More scenery.

Here comes the "Playful" group. As a rule, the scenic group would head out about 15 minutes ahead of the playful group. Usually, they caught up to us about the time we'd get to the next stop.

Heavy metal thunder.

OK, back to the scenery. I tried to get some close up shots of some of the things I saw down in the valley.

Still trying.

Again, it was hazy.

Here's a bunch of bikers, resting their buns.

As you can see, there were quite a few bikes on this ride.
I'd rather be outside than in.

I didn't catch who this was, but he looks kinda lonely out there in the middle of that parking lot, all by himself.

Here's what it looked like just off the road. You sure wanted to stay on the pavement.

More folks, enjoying the view.

Here is a small gage rail line that runs in front of the Queen Wilamena restaurant and lodge.

This is obviously more scenery shots, but now we're at the lodge and higher up on the mountain.

OK, this didn't feel so redundant while I was actually taking the pictures.

Bikes parked, everybody getting ready to go eat.

Here are some stuffed bears inside to lodge. The sign reads. "Please don't feed the bears. They're already stuffed." Har-de-har-har.

The plaque explains all about the lodge. You can read it for your self.

Finally down to serious biker business. Stuffing our faces.
I'd rather be outside than in.
