Avon tires gen3

Hey guys, I saw a couple of posts about Avon tires on a gen 3 Magna, anybody got any decent miles on them and provide some opinions?  Getting ready to replace the Dunlops on my 98, and have heard real good things about them on the first gen bikes. Also size recommendation? Not sure about the front, couldn't find a match for stock at SWMOTOTIRES.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I dont have many miles on mine, but I believe they are a very strong choice for the 3rd Gen Magna!  Front I went with a 120/70 in a Avon A26, slightly shorter (12mm).

What size is on the rear, Greg? Is it shorter as well, or stock size? I put a 110/80 Bridgestone on a few years ago, since that was all that was available locally at the time. It always felt like the front was just on the verge of "tucking under" and made me extremely uncomfortable until I finally replaced it with a 120/80. I think the feeling came from the steeper angle of the forks.
I wish now I had replaced the rear with a shorter one at the same time to see if it would have restored the handling.

So bigger on the rear and smaller on the front? Wow! Even with stock rear and smaller front, mine felt really squirrelly. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive.

The wider-taller rear helps slow it down on the turn in rate.  This combo feels VERY good.....

Dobie, I've got to vouch for the handling (at least below 40 mph) of Greg's project Magna.  My 3rd Gen Magna was all original and I really was dissatisfied with the low speed (parking lot) handling after expecting it to do much better than my Valk (it doesn't).  The combination of bar position and tires and maybe other factors on Greg's bike work together to perform some type of magic, as I was doing low speed u-turns on his residential street with no effort at all (the only problem I had was with the location of the very small friction zone of his clutch).  I was pretty amazed!

Yeah I am still working on that new clutch cable and my adjustment, other than that I am very happy with its feel. 
NOW to get off my duff and get it finished so I can actually make it legal and get out and really put some serious rides on it for the full story!

I also have the Avon Venom AM42 in a 170/80 on the rear.  I need to replace the front soon and am still looking.  I was hoping to find an Avon in stock size but havent found one.  I havent decided what ot go with yet.  I only have about 1500 miles on the rear but have been happy with it so far.

I put a Avon AM 26 roadrunner in 120/70, a bit shorter.

I had a Avon Venom AM42 in a 150 (stock size) on mine. I got 19,500 out of it.. Well, I should have replaced it about 16,500 or so. When I replaced it, I had a spot where all the rubber was gone. The only issue I had was near the end my front end would shake some in turns. I thought my front tire had an issue. Once I replace the rear tire, the front end shake went away... I was please enough with it, that I replaced it with another Venom... I run a Mez 880 on the front.
Oh, in case you are wondering.. I don't baby my Magna.. I'm not HotRod Harry (all the time), but I can't help but see the looks on those Harley guys when I blow their floorboards off and they can't figure out what the hell kind of bike was that!
