Hi. First time poster from WV. Hows it going in the great state of tx. Did have greg help me with a fork part question through email tho.  Trying to remove chain and clean and oil it on my 85 v30. I know the shop where i bought it fixed a leak on the clutch slave, but im not quite on speaking terms with them after being given the run around for 3 months about a fork seal change i was promised and had to do myself.   i took the three bolts out of the slave cover and couldn't get the cover off, i was afraid to force it because the clymer sounded like it should be fairly easy. Should it be difficult to pull off, or is it possible they half-assed it and used something that has it stuck? any help be appreciated guys, ty in advance

The oxidation from the aluminum will make them stick pretty good some times, how long has it been since they removed it?

tried everything short of prying with a screw driver, tugged, pulled, still no luck. don't wanna hurt the gasket :-/. sux being a newb, lol

Try using a small sharp pointed chisel and hammer and go all the way around the edge tapping it upward, not to hard in any one spot. That should keep from messing up the edge. A screw driver is usually to blunt and will dig into the aluminum. I've seen some stuck pretty good, slow and persistent should get it..

A rubber mallet may help too. Will give to bump needed to work it loose but not damage anything.
