custom lowering kit

This guy said he lowered this one 5 inches and you can see the lowering system that was used in this pic, but ive never seen one like this before which makes me think he made it himself, any ideas on what its made from?

Looks like all he did was move the bottom shock mount point back 1 1/2" or so. Should be easy enough to do as Allen mentioned with square bar/tube. He might have welded a new mount but I can't see the photo well enough to tell. 

Whether he used a shorter shock, hard to tell but you could compare the spring count to stock or just study the shock well and compare to your stock one. 

It's good for you do research prior to diving in......in the end it still won't work as you want the design to work and you will mod your mods more. The joys of a custom!

Anything's conceivable, draw out on paper what you want (the look) and plans to make it happen, adjust as you go.

I believe Allen is right.  In that case I would use nothing less than chrome moly tubing for strength.

Yup it just lowers it a couple inches more.
