So you didn't think I was kidding and pulled out of the ride this weekend...

While you were skating on oil and playing who can find the nail first, I was slaving on a couple of bikes.

Heading to the media blasters.

Prepping for paint.

Painted.

My recruited help, since you guys were joying riding, she's actually pretty good help (she might read this).

Swapping parts, ones going together and the other coming apart and going back together.

Big items still to go will be the front end (triple tree, forks, handle bars), rear wheel, front wheel and all the electrical wiring mods ( hook-up for gloves, GPS, CB, brake light modulator).

Everything will be swapped except the motor, frame, the electrics in the battery area and swingarm. Everything else is going over including engine case covers (both sides), chrome head covers, chrome water tubing that runs between motors, all pegs, rear brake rod, etc.

I have a set of throttle cables from the 01 Magna if someone needs them. They work perfect, the chrome by the throttle grip is not so good. I can throw some aluminum paint on it for you. If you want them they are yours for shipping. I can post photos if you want.

Terry - how many miles on them??? I am replacing my 94 cables, just because they are 14 years old and they have 50+K miles on them... I have been waiting 1.5 months for Motion Pro for cables I ordered and they say they will be delivered at the end of October (after being told 2-4 weeks)... I wouldn't feel too bad if I had to cancel that order... This is the last thing I need before I do the shim job.

If I had Allen's money, I'd have what Allen has and just enough left over for some pie, ice cream and coffee.. (You always have to have your emergency pie fund!!!)
And you have to have enough for your saddle bag Monkey TOO!!!

Looks like you got good start on the change over.  When do expected to have her ready for the inaugural ride?

It has taken longer and more involved than expected but that is to be expected....LOL Once stopped, I felt I did get quite a bit accomplished....I would love to have it done this Saturday! We will see.

Bought oil and anti-freeze today. Still have to pick up oils filters, NEW side cover grommets (I don't want to join the "flying side cover list") and other misc bits.

I was looking for a electrical manifold for positive and negative leads to attach instead of several wires to the battery. Looked at the 4-pole connector trailer plug I could make the 3 female connectors positive than plug in various accs. but the bullet style male end was too small. Probably something I could find on the net but didn't want to wait for the item in order to finish. I only have so much time to spend looking for mods at this point.

I have a group of friends who delayed dirt riding last weekend in hopes I would make it this weekend, not going to happen. This is our warm-up before the enduro race in Nov.

After these are done I will put the 94 up for sale, have a guy interested I told him I would sell the bike for cheap or I may wait till spring, and start back on my vintage bike in particular the GT380. I think it needs a top end job, may be able to pull the top end this weekend if the Magnas get done.

One day....one day, I will ride again!

Anyone can come over and work on your bikes but I can't help ya or better yet, come work on my bikes if your bored.  :P :-P
