Tips on keeping battery cables tight?

I keep the battery strap on, but the negative cable tends to wiggle itself loose. I don't want to crank down so hard on it and crack the terminal. Nothing tugging on it that I can tell. What am I missing?

You can put on a flat washer and lock washer. I don't know what's on mine but I have had the problem you are indicating.
