this bike seems to run fine but the right front header pipe is warm to the touch while the left is hot
sometimes i here a pop from the muffler seems like another cyl. is trying to fire any help on this

Pull the plug that's not firing and compare it to the others. My old 87 was hitting on three cycls, the plugs looked ok but since I had them out I changed them anywayany it took care of my miss. I would start with plugs , wires and coils first. You might even move the coils around to see if the problems moves.  But hang on, more experienced first gen owners will jump in, with more possibilities and solutions. good luck

i have changed coils plug wires pulse generators spark plugs but not the cdi boxs

Has the bike sat for a period of time?
I would be very suspicious of the slow speed jets...  I see this all the time, at idle it wont run on all cylinders then once you rev it up some and the midrange needle kicks in some it fires up.

thanks to everyone for the help. brand new ngk spark plug was bad replaced plug bike runs good and all pipes are hot now
