As most of you know i am converting my magna into a bobber style magna. I have already almost completed the process of fabricating a saddle out of an old mountain bike seat. My question is since i am going to be adding a springer solo seat, do i need to also make a plate to cover the battery area or would getting some rain every now and then not affect it. If so what would you guys recomend me do to cover the space up, and please no more smart ass coments to just leave the bike as is lol i hear it too much.

P.S. I just converted a harley owner the other day. He lives down the street and i stoped outside of his house to talk to him and he asked what i was riding and said dam that thing sounds good and it doesnt vibrate at all im converting over to honda now that i have a interested buyer in my bike. Hes not getting a magna because he doesnt believe a 750 is enough power for him and the bike doesnt seem big and heavy enough but he is planning on getting a vtx.

you should put in a gas tank,  or leave it the way it is.   I know someone was waiting for that  :P

The only thing I can think of that might harm the battery in the open is UV rays breaking down the housing.  I don't know how UV resistent the material is however.  Water and such won't hurt it as long as you don't let it get nasty with road grime.
