I had asked this question before, but still haven'y figured it out.

About two weeks ago, I went out and started my bike for my morning ride to work.  I pulled the clutch, and as soon as I shifted into gear, the bike stopped running.  I tried pushing the start button, nothing.  I shifted back to neutral, let out the clutch and it starts right up.  If it is in neutral and the clutched is pulled in, it starts fine.  Only dies when I shift...

I thought that it was the microswitch at the clutch.  When I put a meter to it, it intermitently didnt work.  So I ordered the switch...

Put the switch in today, same problem!

To bypass, I have taken the two wires that go to the switch, connected them together and then connected to chassis ground.

What's next?

Thanks,

Kickstand switch.....

Let me clarify, if the kickstand is down and you throw it in gear the engine will die. Play with this switch a little, jump it, beat on it, have some fun!

Wouldn't the light go on in the tach if the switch was stuck?

TLRam1

You might be right, I forgot about the light but I would check it anyway just to rule it out.

I'm not sure what version bike we are talking about, but on the Gen 3 there is a Neutral light, not a kickstand light...
