I was considering a Dyna ignition for my Magna, but after looking around, then calling Dyna, they are no longer making them.

If you can find one, good luck, as I suspect very few dealers/distributors actually stocked them.

Was there any particular advantage of the Dyna ignition over the stock set-up?
Hard as rock. Tough as nails. Dense as concrete.

If it were profitable to manufacture and offer this module, it would not have been discontinued.  Think I will pass...

Maybe somehting like this can be modified to work.. not sure but it's a thought.. also, make sure to check other distributors, like bikebandit, phat perfomance, etc. they make old stock that they want to get rid of.

Chad, thanks for the input.  I wasn't even sure if I wanted a Dyna, as the standard Magna power is definitely good.  But something happens to me when I'm told I can't have it ! ;-)  I had to find a Gunfighter when I found out that those were only being made to-order....

I did check several suppliers, Phat, CruiserCustomizing, Dennis Kirk, and several other googled dealers.  Also checked a few of the distributors from Dyna's web site, and emailed a few eBay vendors.  As I had suspected, no one stocked any Magna Dyna's, they all ordered from Dyna as needed.

As for the other dyna product, I don't think I want to go quite that far.  Thanks for the tip though.

BTW, I think I have bought one from one of the members of the other Magna forum.

I should have been clearer in my original post.  This is a Dyna 3000 for the 3rd Gen Magna (94-03).

I thought Dave Dodge has some ignition module for the 3rd gen magnas...could be wrong of course..
