Ok so Im new to the board and a new member of MOOT. I have a completely stock 1996 HOnda Magna. TLR Ram this first question is for you where did you find the picture of the orange magna you posted? Secondly I am going to start customizing it however i dont want to go over the top. Let me know what you think of my ideas.
New Paint
Forward controls (mapam) Jardine drag pipes
New drag bars Need ideas on these I kind of like the 4 inch risers and straight bar look however i cant figure out which risers will or wil not work.
New mirrors and grips
Corbin gunfighter seat
billski tailight mod
short stalk rear signals
side mount license plate ( need ideas on how to do this)
Short mount front signals( has anybody done this)
VTX headlight conv.( where is the easiest pace to find this)
cycle-istic brake stay mod
180 rear tire i want the fattest tire i can get on the back but dont want it tall just want it wide
new front tire thinking maybe a little taller and fatter any ideas?
progressive front lowered spings
rear lowering kit
I know alot of people like the magna for what it is a sleeper which is why i dont want to go over the top but i do want a nice clean looking custom and for once i will be the only one in my town that has done this to a magna so please any help and input is appreciated.

Do you mean this one?

Yep, I like it! Some guy was selling his bike IIRC and I stole his pics and took off running.  :P

VTX headlight conv.( where is the easiest pace to find this) - Do you mean to buy or where to find what you need?

180 rear tire i want the fattest tire i can get - Doby (spelling) states the fattest is a 170, the Metz 180 might fit. Someone else will have to help on this.

I think you ought to go for it and post photos of your progress, what color or custom paint will you do? Some of these guys have T-Bars  and can give you insight what will work. What about straight T-Bars w/o separate risers? They have a awesome custom look. Greg has a set he can post a photo of.

I like seeing creative people and envy the ones who have time, money and craftsmanship to do this. Gooch daddy in the Chad state of Florida  :P :P is doing a custom.

You have a nice plane laid out. I would love to do one like the orange one above.

on the headlight where to find the whole headlight that is unbolt the stock and bolt on the new one.....also on the risers does anybody know if the choppers inc 44 or 45 mag 4" risers will work im in the law enforcement field so those riser just kind of fit and would like to go with those. As far as the paint i plan on doing somehting clean like the new dodge ram blue

You can drill out the riser bolt hole somewhat to accommodate Harley risers (opens up many options), someone will need to confirm this and what size hole. Half inch rings a bell but that seems large.

I have the Hardley risers on mine not sure what size the bolt is but it will need to be drilled not much but a little.  You can fit a 180 size tire under there BUT the 170 is wider so go with it you will have to mod mod or buy a brakestay rod from Cyclistic. Where can you find a whole VTX headlight to bolt up well a VTX would do the job just unbolt your friends and presto ready to mount

Welcome aboard, looking forward to seeing YOUR Magna when finished.

OK try these when making your signals shorter, http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=25944f65-e214-49c5-addb-8bef6d23394a&search=cobra+turn+signal&store=All&page=1 drill the back to accept an 8mm x 1.25mm bolt.

Go the the main MOOT site for information on the parts list needed for the VTX headlight swap, http://www.magnaownersoftexas.com/tips.htm#A1.14 then go to any OEM online parts seller such as HDLParts.com or your favorite.

The 170/80 is wider than the 180/70 and a bit taller too, due to the tread pattern design the Avon Venom is a tiny bit wider than the Metzeler.
