Looks Great Terry... And the can of starting fluid... That's perfect for these shots with the story behind it and all. Did you wet the rim and tire before the starting fluid procedure???
How hard was it to get the tire onto the rim.. Did you have to use a machine to do that?
Ohhhhh. I'm getting a little excited about putting a car tire on, now that I've seen yours..

Let us know (in detail) what you think of the ride.. I've heard it takes a little getting used to..

The rim of the tire had paste from the No Mar company I bought the mount bar from, rim of the wheel had nothing on it. When seating, on the last difficult part I used there spray lubricate also.

Since I have not done a conventional tire yet I have nothing to compare this to. It was difficult putting the tire on the rim but not as difficult as I thought it would be, I use the Harbor F. tire changer with the No Mar Bar. Seems every tire I do I bend the tips on the bar, good thing they replace them for free.  8-)  When I do a conventional tire on the changer I will let you know how that works. Robert will probably be next with his car tire in my garage.

Dot, DOT, their ain't no stinkin DOT on this tire. I will balance out the DOT, how bout that, or maybe I blew the DOT clean off the sidewall or I will go so fast so the DOT can't hang.

You want a dot I'll give you a dot.

or one of these..

I was certain that Curtis would weigh in with Dyna-beads by now!

I have no idea what they are, or how they work.  Would they work with the car tire?  I would suppose so, otherwise "dark side" Curtis would not be using them...

The last I heard.....Festus had them still on the shelf for "when he gets round to it" days. They probably would, might take more than what they recommend due to the tire though. This tire might be fine but before I ride I want it finished.

I am curious to see how much weight I will need and how difficult the tire will be to balance. Festus said he's at lunch eating his macaroni & cheese.

You would be surprised how little if any weight this tire needed. Lined the dot up and it was near perfect, added a small 10gram weight.

Because of my mistake I did this the quick way, left my brake rod connected and chain adjusters unchanged, pulled the axle and went to business, put the axle back in, checked my adjusters to in sure nothing changed and we're done.
