I concur, my stock springs look just like these.

I concur, my stock springs look just like these.

I do appreciate the input guys, but comparing a 3rd gen is really no help.  Plus, while yours are wound slightly tighter at one end, they are not as tight as mine are.
Next week I am going to pull one of the springs out of my other 84 V45 and see what I find.  I would do it this weekend, but I am headed out to the beautiful central Texas hill country for the weekend!  No, not on my bike.  :sad:
