Well, theres another great idea I have had that someone else clearly did to.  They clearly took theirs a couple steps further than I had envisioned though.
IMO--They are ugly, as I knew my idea would be, but I love the functionality.  Also, the ugly factor really does not deter me.  I am all for function over form on my bike.  I don't ride to be seen or to impress other people.  I ride for me, and my comfort is paramount.
