I have mentioned this before, but now I have some pictures of how I mounted my airhorn compressor

Drilled a hole in the bottom Air Cleaner housing

I've had it on there a couple of years now (at least) and the Air Cleaner box seems to be holding up fine.
I was a little concerned with the compressor absorbing heat from the motor / Radiator, but the compressor still works fine, so that does not seem to be a problem.

The nut I used does have teeth on the mounting surface, so I have had no issues with it loosening up, (Can only be tightened from inside the airbox) but I probably should have put a little locktight on it while I had it apart last week-end (doing shimming of the needles).

The only issue I have had, is a get a little oil seepage out the front of the air cleaner area, so once a year I have to deal with cleaning that up.. I'm hoping it is related to this install, but not positive. When I put the bottom half of the air cleaner back on, I put a little RTV along the front bead to see if I could get this to stop.. Again, I don't KNOW this is what is causing the issue and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse and it is small enough that I only need to clean things up once a year, so it hasn't been a big issue for me...

Thanks for the pics.  I have been contemplating doing this for some time.  Right now, my compressor is mounted to the frame, inside the engine guard on the left side.  Works, but not very attractive, for sure.

Next time I have the tank off, I may find the courage to do mine this way.   I haven't removed the K&N filter since I retuned the carbs ~ 12K miles ago...

I believe the Strebil (SP?) is actually a little louder horn.. The trumpets are actually a little ahead of me, so it's not bad at all..
