Floorboards or Footpegs

I have two varieties of Memphis Shades on my bikes.  Please note that the mounts, if not universal, work for a large part of their product line.  Also note that if you break or lose components of the mounts, they will replace them for free!!  I bought a new mount before I discovered this, after my unscheduled get-off last year which pretty much destroyed the mount I had.

I have the "big shot" on the blue bike, which worked well for the original seat, but not quite so well with the Mustang.

The other bike came with a smaller, shorter 'shield, and I haven't decided yet whether I like it better or worse.

One interesting thing I noted was how much distortion in perception the windshields cause.  When I rode without one for awhile, the first impression was now wide the road seemed, at least in and under the bike.   I like riding without a 'shield.  If it wasn't so tiring, I would just leave 'em off...

Look!  Cobra Floorboards!!

IF transformers. It looks like you got the extra metal from your exhaust pipes.. They are much skinner in the later picture..

+1 for the big shot.. I suggest you get the Smoke (solar) color only - The colored shields tend to craze in a pretty short period of time.. I've had my smoke one for 4 years or so and only have one small spot of crazing (appears like little tiny cracks in the Plexiglas)
I'm 6'1 " and have a mustang seat.. I had to raise the mount as high as it would go on the forks, but is just about right..
The only bad thing about the windshield is there is no hand protection when it's cold..
The plus is it is easily removed and re-installed.

I also have a mustang seat, and I am only 5'7.  Are you saying that its a good fit with a mustang seat, or a bad fit.

Not sure who your question was directed to.. Probably Lawrence, but here is my response.

The mustang seat actually puts you a little higher then stock..
You will have the windshield where it belongs (close to the headlight) - mine is at least 1.5 inches above the headlight to make it the right height for me..
You should be fine.. The "proper" height for a windshield is for the top to be at about nose level so you can see over the windshield. I guess it will depend on how long your legs are compared to your body...
My wife has a tall windshield on her Sabre and she actually looks through the windshield, but that is the way she likes it..

Pic resize not pipe friendly.. same Cobra slashcut pipes.  Note the solar battery charger on the tank.  Helps with the Transformation.  Now if only I could install the Flux Capacitor.

I like the Memphis Fats 19".  I can see over it, relax or duck behind it.  It also has the 3-pouch things-holder on it.  Really handy.

I think it would work well at your height -- I am 5' 9", and two inches shorter would take me out of the buffet zone nicely.

I don't know what height has to do with it.. But I like being in the Buffet zone..

Last time I was in a Buffet zone I was "wasted away in margaritaville".

...along with all the rest of the Parrot-heads!

I did not experience buffeting (turbulence) on my helmet with the Big Shot until I put on the Mustang Seat -- which moved my head (and the rest of the torso, too) up about 2 inches.  At least that's my theory, and I am sticking with it!!

So if Jennifer is two inches shorter, she should not experience this effect -- well, maybe not, anyway.  I suppose it depends where the 2 inches shorter accrues, above or below the seat.  Since I am short of leg and long of torso (try finding a low cost shirt whose shirt tail does not immediately slide up out of my waistband), I presume that she is at least two inches shorter in this applicable dimension.

I have the cobra floorboards on mine, they came with the bike. I scrape them routinely and would prefer not to have them in the corners... but I'm 6'2"-which isn't terribly tall-and they are just too comfortable to get rid of. I can easily move my feet to the front of them or keep them back in traffic.

At standstill I you could just put your feet down slightly behind them. I used to hit my shins on them but not very often now. The fact that your feet can be on a platform is very comfortable. I'm a fan of stripped down bikes but for everyday riding it's very comfortable.

Ideally I suppose forward controls and highway pegs would suite me more so I don't scrape but can still extend my legs. Someday, maybe.

As for a windscreen, I use a slipstreamer ss-20T stealth - the smoke one - http://www.slipstreamer.com/Product/Cruisers/cruisers.html It's unique and not too tall. My head gets buffeted a little but yours may not being shorter. It's 14" tall and 30" wide.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, DR.
