O.K. so today I noticed that the bike is leaking fork oil. It has been parked since March and there is only a 50 cent size spot on the ground so it is nothing major. So the question is, when I replaced the springs, do you think I didn't get the cap tight enough, the o-ring is pinched or bad, or god forbid I crossed the threads. Was wondering what the most common cause is. If I crossed the threads what do you think it will cost to get repaired.

Did you replace the seals when you changed the springs, bad seals are the most common cause.

If the oil is coming from the top you will have a run down the length of your tube, if it's from the seal it will be from there down unless the wind blows it up some.

It is from the top left tube, bike has been sitting since mid-march cause of knee surgery, very slow leak, but would rather not have a leak. was wondering if cross threading was common when putting the caps back on.

Even if you cross threaded the cap If it tightened enough to compress the o-ring it shouldn't leak. loosen the top triple tree clamp and back off the cap enough to check the condition of the o-ring , I have dropped the o-ring off the cap and not noticed it being missing. Just a thought..

If I can move the bike out from the wall where I park it I will check and see.
Thanks
