MOOTMag #8  will be held at Caddo Lake near Jefferson TX  June 9th - 13th  2010
Ok so here we have it this will be edited as it goes along but make time on your calendar for the event of the year !!!!

MOOTMAG8 Lodging and Camping

Your MOOTMAG committee has selected Shadyglade resort for the our use June 9-12.  We have negotiated a 15% discount for reservations made before March 31, 2010.  The rates without the discount are listed here:

Shadyglade Resort accomodations
Name      # units      Price/room-night"
Motel      5      $70
Cozy Cabin   1      $60
Mobile #1   1      $100
Mobile #2   1      $100
Lakeside 1&2   2      $80
Prices are double occupancy.  More than two persons at $10 per night per person
Tent sites   10      $6

See the website for pictures and details: http://www.shadygladeresort.com/index.html

As you can see, this is not a large resort, so we are going to need to share rooms.  If we take all the rooms, we will get exclusive use of the lakeside pavilion (20 ft by 40 ft) for the welcome dinner, or just to hang out.

Reservations require a deposit for the first night at the full rate.  The discount will be credited to all four nights when the room is paid for.  Cancellations after June 2 will forfeit the deposit.

There is a restaurant near the dock that is open for breakfast and lunch.  It seats about 50 folks.  If there are enough of us who want to eat there, he would open it for dinner, exclusive to us.  Again if we rent all the rooms, we can use it in the evenings to show videos or just hang out whether we eat there or not.  We will have to leave it clean, of course.

There are two areas where folks can camp.  These areas can have a bit of power, (like for lights or fans but not cooking or air conditioning) but they are not developed camp sites.  There are men's and women's restrooms near one of them, (adjacent the pavilion, near the restaurant and boat dock) with showers in them.   The other camping is in an area that floods if there are really torrential rains.  The turf there is heavy and soft.  It is adjacent the motel area.  I am sure that those of us who take cabins or motel rooms would share the restrooms with folks who choose to camp in this area.  There are no available spots for RV camping.

There is a small laundromat on site.  A "steamboat" is available for tours of the lake or parties, etc.

The nearest gas is about 4 miles away.  It is about 4 miles to Caddo Lake State Park.

We got a late start this year, and other places we could find on the water are already booked.  We need to step up and reserve these rooms.  It is a small enough resort that we can fill it up, and we will be the only ones there.

The registration fee is the same as last year, $30.  This pays for T-shirts, the welcome meal, and other common expenses.  No one profits from this fee.  Any left over will be used to support the web site or the emergency parts stock.

We need to include instructions for paying the registration fee. .  Send payment via paypal to gregcothern@sbcglobal.net
if you want to send a check PM me and I will give you the address!!

Is your name on this list it should be!!!!

I have a Mustang already, but I was not graced with much padding from the Lord...
500 Miles is about my MAX..
Even with the Mustang, I need to stop about every 100 miles to top off the blood in my behind!!!.. So, I might as well get some gas..
