Spent the better part of the afternoon reworking the turn signal switch. Got it going.

Tore down the turn signal relay can to reveal more cold solder joints. Re-flowed those and now the turn signals work properly, except for the rear lights. The "pilot lamp unit" does not work and being pretty well potted, there will be no bench repair of that unit.

QUESTION:

According to the schematic in the clymer manual, the rear parking lights are single filaments. Are these supposed to operate as turn signals, or, as parking lights and as turn signals?

What exactly is the funtion of the "pilot lamp unit" and the "stop and tail light" sensor? (Meaning, in short, how do these operate?)

I an designing l.e.d. boards for the parking/turn lamps and for the tail light, in which case, the above mentioned circuits will be removed from the bike altogether.

In case you are curious, I built a similar circuit for a quad that I got street plates for. The turn signals were l.e.d. and used a relay, a dpdt switch with a "Sho-Me" l.e.d. flasher.

Will post pics when this gets done.
