What oil do you use in your bike?

Not asking for any advice on which oil to use.  Just curious as to what type of oil everyone uses.

I use Chevron DELO 15W40 LE.  For me I have found it works great and the bike seems to agree.

If there was already a thread created about this I apologize in advance.

Go do a search (upper right hand corner between "Help" and "Profile" for "oil", and stand back!

I think there are as many opinions on oil as there are registered MOOT members.  My only advice is to use an oil formulated for motorcycles -- they should be absent the friction modifiers, which can cause problems with your clutch, since it runs in oil -- but if you find the thread, and look at the links, you can become as confused as I am!!

I used 10w40 honda motorcycle oil for the longest time (5 years)...

and testing...

and I'm thinking of using

20w50 Castrol/Shell/Mobil car oil.

No energy conserving.

If my bike dies, I'll let u know!

My GS currently is using Rotella 15w40, the ST is currently using Castrol Syntec 10w40.

I change the oil every time the oil light comes on.  That is right at 40 k miles.



                                            Just kidding I change it at 4 to 5 thousand miles.

That's funny, I'm at 68K and the oil light hasn't come on YET... Hummm Maybe I should check the bulb???
Is it time to change the oil yet??
