Engine mount spacers- what is stock setup?

Well, I just removed a set of MC enterprises highway pegs from my 97 Magna (will be posting in the for sale section).

Anyway these are the type that mount on a nice steel/chrome bracket that mounts onto two of the engine mount bolts, they include longer bolts and spacers in the kit.

So I replaced these bolts so I can give the buyer of the kit all the parts he needs, but I'm not sure what stock looks like, especially on the upper mount bolt. I have a feeling what I'm seeing here is not stock.

OK three Questions:

1- How many spacers do you have on your upper engine mount bolt ?- mine is, working in from the outside of the bike: nut, frame, spacer, engine mount , spacer, nut.

2-If that is correct, what is the purpose of the second spacer, it just sticks there making that bolt longer? Also, there is much more gap on the right side mount than on the left, so much so that I had to insert a few washers to get everything to snug up so the spacers are not spinning. I thinksomeone else reported this as well.

3-Shouldn't there be rubber in this assembly somewhere? The lower mount is rubber, why have one rubber engine mount, then bolt the top of the cylender rigidly to the frame?

If anyone could shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it- I have pics, I just need to figure out how to post them. Also need to put together a post with pics of the highway pegs, sissybar, windscreen and other chrome doodads I am trying to sell/trade.

Mine is NOT stock since I have Mapam Forwards..

But to get pictures up
Once you have the pictures on your computer you can just click the "Additional Options" Under the text box
then next to "Attach:" Click the browse button and find the pictures you want uploaded.
IF you have more than one picture click on the "More Attachments" next to the Browse button.

Hope it helps!!

Thanks!

This is what I am talking about- I bought some 10mm bolts, but they were not long enough for the second spacer I mentioned above, in the photo, there is a nut there now. I want to make sure this is OK, maybe there is a reason for that second spacer and I should put it back?

This photo is taken from up underneath, obviously- I will also attach a photo taken from the side of the bike just to confoirm what bolt I am talking about- the shiney new nut in the center of the from in pic 2.

It appears that the bolt does not go all the way through the nut. That is important. Also I would personally use a grade 5 or 8 bolt there. You will need a grade 5 or better nut. It can't hurt to have that kind of shear strength there but I'm not an engineer and it may be way over kill.

Thanks, the bolts are marked 88- I guess I need a longer one.

Anyone with a 93-03 VF750 that can show what the setup is on a stock bike? Esp the spacers?

I want to get this right, since its holding important things like the engine and frame together-

Click here --> BikeBandit
Then click on the FRAME picture.. Maybe you can figure it out from there.. Not sure, but it's a start.

Or the attachments might help...

THATS IT! (Cylinder head mounting bolt.)THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN! Looks like just the one spacer it there, the highway pegs kit must have included the extra spacer, the bolt needed to be longer for the peg bracket, but not that much longer. They probably could use that same bolt length for several models to cut down on stocking different parts- just including a spacer on the bikes where it's needed.
I will pass anong the longer bolts and spacers to the new owner of the highway pegs kit when someone buys it from me.
