I also own a HD and a BMW which are considerably heavier than my Magna. They tend to spoil you with the quality of their suspensions. So I would like to improve my shocks and fork springs on my '98 Magna. I would appreciate any recommendations or experiences on doing these upgrades.

You can install progressive springs on the front forks and go to 15wt oil.

The springs run about $80 I'm told and the oil is about $8/quart.

Instructions are here:

Or if you want to make one of the wrenching sessions I may be doing that on my 99 in the next couple of months myself.

I'm not sure what options are available for the rear suspension.

Racetech Cartridge Emulators in front forks, Progressive 444s on the rear. Best mods I've ever made to this bike.

I would almost always go with and recommend the Progressive products for both front and back suspension.  Below directly swiped from Progressives web page.
