We will get started at 8:30-9:00 a.m.  There will be rework on at least one set of carbs on 3rd gen bikes, maybe two.

We will have lunch at The Salt Lick -- about five miles from my place.  Hope to finish at least one set of carbs before lunch, so we can try 'em out on the way.

I have a lift, chain tools, wrenches, compressed air, shop manuals, etc.  Every problem is welcome, BYOP (Bring Your Own Parts).

If you are coming, send me a PM and I will send you address and directions.

Hello Lawrence.  How far is your place from Blanco?  I am thinking about riding down to Blanco on Friday, July 16 and taking a "tour" of the Real Ale brewery.  If so, I might ride over Sat. am, closely supervise any and all activity from the comfort of a lawn chair positioned in the shade near a large fan and eat lunch with the group before heading west to ride the 3 sisters on Sunday and Monday.  I have had a very busy few months and need 3-4 days of riding to clear my head.

Anybody in the North Texas area care to join me?

Jeff, would love to see you.  Missed you at MOOTMAG this year (along with a bunch of others!)

I am about an hour from Blanco, give or take, with some very nice riding to get here.  Best way is to head east from Blanco on Hwy 32, go over the devil's backbone to RR12, turn left (north), go through Wimberley (for Pete's sake, don't stop at Wimberley Pie Company, you will never leave there if you do!) continue on RR 12 to Elder Hill Road (AKA Hays Co Rd 170 at the Driftwood Winery sign) turn right -- slow, very twisty interesting ride, one of my favorites).  At the stop sign in Driftwood at FM 150, turn left.  In about 1 mile, turn right on FM 1826 -- go past The Salt Lick (or give me a call and meet us there for lunch, depending on your arrival time), go past Barsana Dham (Hindu temple on the right), Friendship Baptist Church (also on the right).  When you approach a large yellow arrow warning of the road turning right, turn left on Bear Creek Drive.  Turn left on South Madrone Trail.  About one mile down on the left (#13004) , turn in at the stainless steel mailbox and ride on up to the house.  Wrenching will be going on in the carport, up the hill around the house past the barn.  Call me if you get lost.  You should still have my cell # in your phone from Colorado.

Thanks for the directions.  As of today I am planning on leaving my house Fri. morning.  I'll touch base with you the early in the week of 7/12 to confirm my plans.  I have lost your cell no.  Please email it to me at jgalaw@flash.net or text it to me at 972 768 8165.  Heck, just call me sometime with it.  That sounds so 20th century.  Nobody seems to make time for talking on phones anymore.

Is Bill Duke going to make an appearance?  I hope so.  I get a kick out of his story telling ability.

Still wrenching on Saturday?  If so, I'll be at your place around 10:00 am to provide moral support.

Jeff, come on over.  The MOOT member who needs carb work was called out of the country on business, and probably not coming.  Thuy is/was planning to come up from Houston, but I don't have the official tool necessary to get to his steering bearings.  I have asked him to call me.

I am planning to do an oil change, which will be complete before 10:00 a.m.  If no one else shows up by the time of your arrival, perhaps you and Bill and I and whomever else would care to join us can visit a bit then ride some of the back roads in Hays and Blanco counties -- in the general direction of your trip west.

Right now, I plan to open the gates by 8:00 a.m., and see what happens.

If others would like to come and wrench and/or ride, please post here or send me a Private Message.

Bill Duke will be here at 10 a.m.  Trudy may come with him.  I will be through with my wrench work by then, and we will ride a bit, have lunch, and see Jeff on his way west.

So the "wrench session" has turned into a "ride and eat lunch" session.  Both the parties who had wrenching to do have withdrawn.

Come ride with us if you like.

Hey Lawrence.  My plans changed at the last minute and I will not be able to make it south this weekend.  I sent you an email yesterday.  Tell Bill I said hello and I am very sorry that I will not get to see him.  I will let you know when I reschedule (I will reschedule!).

Take care.  I hope your suster is feeling better.

Well, Bill, Trudy and I had a good ride.  I finished my oil change and bike detailing before 8 a.m., came in and had breakfast and changed into riding gear.  They showed up around 9 a.m.  We rode a bunch of ranch roads and back roads (paved, some rough, all slow, quite twisty) in Blanco and Hays counties and ate lunch in Dripping Springs at 11:45.  Bought gas and came home before it got so terribly hot.

Sure wish I had planned a trip to Colorado, NM, or someplace cooler for the summer.   Whew!!

Just got in from my ride.  Been caged up for 2 weeks, so I had to get out.  Did some East Texas lakes.  Did get a little hot.  See you guys on the 31st.
