I drilled two 3/8" holes in each exhaust on my '94..
I believe it increase power a little..
I've always run a K&N..
I noticed the biggest difference when I upped the Main Jets to 105's.. I'm waiting to up the Slow Jets to 42's..
Magna's come tuned pretty lean and and modifying the exhaust along with the K&N usually leans them out even more. So, going with bigger jets compensates for the better airflow.

The Tone got a little louder, but Not loud by any stretch of the imagination. You would have to go with aftermarkets to get above a mild rumble sound.

Thanks for the greeting.. :D

So is that the muffler mod described in the "tips and tricks" portion of this page or did you do something else?

Aftermarket pipes always sound better than the muffler mod.  Every now and then you can get used ones in great condition on here or ebay.  I would go with shims and jets no matter what you do.  Performance difference is noticeable.

What David said is true...
It is a different mod.. Instead of removing the resonator which leaves a big hole in the end of the exhaust (I didn't like the cosmetics of this mod) I just drilled 2 3/8" holes (one on the left, one on the right) of each exhaust.. It allows the exhaust gasses to bypass the resonator and come out the end plates. Even with only these two holes Not much comes out the main exhaust hole anymore. It is a bit louder (more like a louder purring lion than anything like a Harley, etc). I like the tone, and the look is hardly noticeable.

Here is what MY mod looks like...

This mod does change the sound but does not change the power as you have not changed the actual size of the opening and the baffles are still intact. You really haven't done anything to change the back pressure. This mod as you can see removes the resonator but replaces the end plate so there is no difference in the look..

Thanks everyone this info is insanely helpful! I will perform this mod until i can afford some V&H or Cobra. I would spring for it now but I am a poor Poor POOR college student lol  :-D

I can identify with the poor, poor poor part good luck with the mod..

ps-- when you cut the resonators off, cut them at an angle so they will only fit one way in case you ever decide to put them back stock they can easily be welded back together..
