Has anyone bought a belt kit for their Magna from these guys?
I ordered and paid for one last December, and have not received it yet. Not a happy camper to say the least!
And now I'm getting the run around; always broken promises to ship; supposed to have left twice by now. No one answers the phone when I call: always busy doing other things, like shipping out orders. Go Figure! When's MY order coming out?
Anyway, has anyone here bought this kit, and if yes, how did you find the service?
Cheers!

That stinks!  That was going to be my next investment before I finally decided to sell the Magna.  If you ever do get it please let us know.  I'm thinking Magna #3 will probably have shaft drive but you never know.

Well I thought it was a no brainer......guess now I am the one without a brain!!!
You'd think a company would be interested in it's public perception, but apparently not. I'll have to move on to the next step now and start sending really naughty emails, because they won't answer their phone. I know life is too short to be doing this: maybe I'll have to make a personal apperance with a bit more behind me. Anyway, I'll be sure to let everyone know how I'm being treated. Too bad they are making things hard on themselves; no brainers? Possibly.

Hey, There's a business idea!!! - I'm starting a website.. I can sell all kinds of cool stuff that doesn't really exist and take the money and never deliver.. I can pay some foreigner a couple of bucks to take phone calls from overseas to give them the run around for months.. (Hi, this is Peggy!)

I'm NOT saying this is what's going on, I hope Scootworks is just having some internal issues they can get worked out... I'm just being a Jerk and hoping someone laughs..

However, most businesses won't charge your credit card until they are ready to ship.. I'd at least give a call / on-line to the BBB for their area.. Sometimes they can get things resolved and it applies a little extra pressure on them..

If you are ready to blow them off, call your credit card company and tell them you have never received the merchandise, repeated calls and e-mails have gone unanswered, and you want the charge reversed.  My credit card company would credit my account immediately, and seek recovery from the dealer.  They are very tenacious, and have many well paid lawyers!!

I've contacted MC today; they asked me to wait until tomorrow and see if it gets shipped today (I was told 2 days ago 1-2 days). If it's not shipped today, they will reverse the charges. So what can I say? And that is a good tip not to pay until the goods are shipped. I'll let you all know how this goes. I guess Superbrace is another one to look out for; see Magna Riders Forum comments.
Cheers!

I made a call to check on this incognito, supposedly (since your info has not been forthcoming), the units are ready they are waiting on the belts to be delivered, 5-7 days out.

Not knowing the situation it would be best if Scootworks were up front and put you on a waiting list, than called when these were set to go, some custom guys will not start a project until they do get a paid deposit or paid order. In this case Scootworks should tell you with some accuracy what to expect for an ETA, what could play into this is if the process is completed by a third party to their design.

Lack of accurate communication and/or telling you what you want to hear speaks volume with regards to their character.

A merchant can "reserve" a charge to your card.  It is commonly done by hotels when making reservations.  Subtracts from your limit, but does not show up on your account.

They could easily have confirmed that you did indeed have the credit necessary to pay, reserved the funds, and sent you an e-mail explaining the delivery delay.

I am in sympathy with the dilemma that custom manufacturing faces, but they could manage it in a way that does not sour their relationship with customers -- or leave them with inventory they have difficulty in moving.

All that's been said by Terry is true; so they will end up with inventory because if they don't ship mine today MC is refunding me tomorrow. Of course, were they truthful with Terry? Are the belts really the hold up, or just excuse number 8 out of a possible 32? And if it is only the belts holding things up, I would rather know that than to base my actions without knowing this information.
Anyway, since they can't see fit to be completely honest and up front with me, I'd rather not deal with them: my choice.
I'll know later today if they shipped.

And if the belt was the only hold up then why not ship everything else with an apology and a promise to have the belts shipped ASAP.

I've been waiting on my kit since early November.  Scootworks keeps changing the story regarding the delay.  First it was some broken machine for making the pulleys.  Then it was the weather.  Then some guy who did something was sick.  Now it's the belt.

My card was charged in early November.  I send an email to Scootworks almost every day demanding to know what is going on.  About once a week (at most), I get an email with the latest excuse for the delay, but also with a promise that the kit should ship "later today or tomorrow".  This has been happening for almost 3 months.  Cue Garth Brooks' If Tomorrow Never Comes....

I have had to contact my credit card company as well.  They sent a letter to Scootworks telling them that they had until the end of this week to explain the delay and give a firm shipping date or ship the kit to me.  If Scootworks fails to do either of these by Friday afternoon, the credit card company will refund my money.

If anyone is thinking about buying anything from Scootworks, I would strongly advise against it.

Just for kicks, here's another complaint I found on another forum.  Enjoy:  http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/general-sportbikes/427580-warning-scootworks.html

I did not receive notification of shipment today, as promised, so tomorrow, February 18, I will call Master Card and ask for my refund. I'm pissed off because I removed my sprocket from the hub already. I didn't remove my swing arm tho, so less work there. Anyway, I hope they get shut down before causing any more damage to the industry.

That's the million dollar question......... a lady answered the phone, went to ask someone so she passed on what she was told.

At the very least they are habitually untruthful, enough as you say to pass. I need good information myself to make a informed decision and give people the same so they can decide what to do.
