Hi all,
just joined up on this site, as I have just got my 95 magna 750c, allways wanted one, wanted to check/renew air filter on bike, nothing tells me anything about this in handbook, as the magna here in the uk are as rare as hens teeth, would like to get access to it, sorry about the long introduction, great site, wish we had a magna owners club here in the uk like this, hope to hear from some one on this, thanks.

Welcome aboard from another yellow magna owner (it is the fastest color you know)!

You can find a very nice copy of the shop manual here:

Magna Service Manual

Should cover most things.  For the air filter, you'll need to remove the tank first and then it's relatively easy to pop the airbox cover off (after removing the snorkel you find between the frame members on top).  It takes a little bit of maneuvering to fish it out as it's a tight squeeze.

Oh, there's also a common service manual floating around out here somewhere too which might be helpful ... I'll see if I can find a link to that too.

Here you go ... Chad (another MOOT member) had posted this a while back:

Keith;
 Welcome from Tampa Bay, Floriduh..

I also have the fastest color bike, AND the correct BADGE on the side of the tank..
IF you are going for the air filter, you may want to order a K&N filter IF someone has not already upgraded it.. It cost about twice what Honda wants, but it is rechargeable, so you never have to buy another..

Use the search feature on the site, you will find a lot of interesting subjects.. I would suggest you search on Regulators.. The 2000 and earlier bikes tend to have issues with this part..

Enjoy the ride!!!

Cheers

What Hoot left out was that if you do go K&N that you may have some carb tuning to do.  You are on the other side of the pond though which means you should already have larger main jets than what we started with in the states (105's for you vs 102's for us).  The bike is set up pretty lean from the factory and anything done to improve its ability to breath (whether at the intake or exhaust), tends to make that worse.  There has been volumes written on this subject and a special thread too:

Mine sure runs better with the 105's in it (less mid range lag.. Can't wait to put in the 42 idle jets!!! But I need Needle parts.. I only need the o-rings and washers.. Hard to justify $25/carb for those few little parts..

What washers and O-Rings do you need Hoot?

The little ones that go under the Slow jets (the one you adjust at the bottom of the carb) (19 & 20 in the attached drawing). When Honda cleaned my carbs, it seems they lost a couple of the parts and didn't worry about replacing them.. A couple had the parts, a couple were missing the little o-ring and flat washer.

You're sure those parts aren't stuck up in the holes?  I seem to remember one or two of mine not coming out with the pilot screws when I took them out.  I replaced mine last year and may have some of the old parts laying around in the garage.  Those o-rings looked fine but I already paid for the gasket kits so I figured I'd just replace them.  I can check for you over the weekend and let you know if I can find them.

Yeah, the parts are gone.. I cleaned out the holes with carb cleaner and used a flashlight..
Used parts are fine.. It's WAY better than NO parts and quite a bit better than $100 !!!

I remember now that you are messing those, I guess you say 100 dollars and unable to purchase them separately.

Well my other choice is to rip the carbs out again and take a chance I can find something matches up... Of course If I'm unsuccessful, then I have to put them back together and order the parts and the rip them apart again.. I'm not really willing to to have my bike down for several weeks
