First of all Farmer2js

Terry (TLRam1) purchased a couple of the Vredestein and I think he passed one on to another member.. So someone will pop in with an opinion.. My opinion is that it is twice the price and I'm not sure it's worth the extra $$$, but a review would be great...
I've have close to 18K on my Nankang, and it's still going well..
There is also a BF Goodrich Radial T/A, but the issue with that is it has white lettering on one side only..

Thanks for the welcome and the reply. I'm in Ohio with shorter riding times and I'm expecting the CT to last me several years, so the additional cost is not a big concern. I like what I read about the Nankang except for the required air pressures noted to seat, and I'm thinking the Vredestein may seat easier. I've ruled out the BF Goodrich due to the white lettering.

I guess I'm up.

The Vredestein tire is more than the others but about the same as the OEM tire for the Magnas. Being my first car tire I wanted to get what I thought is a premium tire and give me the best shot I could of liking a car tire. If I went with an inexpensive tire I may have problems attributed because of the inexpensive tire and nothing to do because it was a car tire.

The Vredestein is suppose to be a premium tire similar to Michelin type tires as people seemed to compare them to. Many used these tires as race tires and some on ice. No comments on any of the above, that's just what I found out asking others in different counties who used these tires.

This tire has performed well as the other tires have, I have not pushed these to the limit ie; sliding around as I have a MC tire, I probably will when the tread gets lower, these have not lost grip and handled well except as noted as a trait of these car tires on the Magna being a little whooshy  beginning a turn but once the slack is taken up you can lay it on down with confidence.

Even with the lower cost, when this one wears out I don't know that I would go with the lesser cost tire as I am comfortable with these, not saying I wouldn't either. When this one goes I will revisit the tires people have used and find my answer.

Magnum  (Robert), has the one I didn't use.

Let me add.... seating the tire went about as the rest of the car tires did, left you wondering what's about to happen, somethings going to pop.

This is a pretty cool LINK.. It compares different size tires and tells you the difference and how it MAY affect your speedo..

Except our speedometers are ran from the front tire, so for Magna's it makes no difference unless it would give you RPM differences, for autos it is helpful.

For my car I went from 16" to 17" wheels, that change brought my speedometer from being 2 miles under actual speed to about actual or showing 1/2 MPH less than actual.

I knew that but it also give you dimensional differences and "Revs per mile:" So the difference between a 155 & 165 is about 20 additional revolutions on the 155/mile.
Take that times 10,000 miles. That's an additional 200K times around for a 155 for the same distance.. More wear on bearings, chain, sprockets and some difference on engine revolutions and speed out of the hole, etc..
So if you want a faster off the line bike (may be insignificant) you want the 155, but for highway you want the 165..
Where is Lawrence when you need him... My brain is beginning to hurt!!
