Checking the rear brake light with the front brake squeezed, and the brake light does not come on, but works with the rear brake pressed.  Assume the switch is bad.  How to replace? and/ or need whole assembly on front brake?  Please advise.  Thanks.

There is a micro switch under the brake reservoir that is held on by a single screw... Try some contact cleaner 1st, but then buy and replace the switch. Easy fix IF you can get the screw out, mine broke and I had to glue my new switch..

My front brake switch broke 2 weeks ago. The return spring inside the switch broke. I odered the switch trough Bike Bandit an had it within 3 days. Very easy to change out. There's a single screw and the two wires.

Thanks! Mr. Hootman and Jigger.  Will look at tonight while putting on a Cycle-Listic chain guard from Dobie.

Checked the switch, and a conection had become unattached.  Connected, and fixed!  But at least I will know where to look if the brake light quits working again.

My switch stuck in the on position about a month ago. even after I took it off the bike I could not even loosen up that microswitch, I think it was welded in place !  anyway, I ended up buying one from the dealer, for the few extra bucks it cost it was worth not having to park the bike for a week until a mail order one came.
Glad it was easy fix for you, wish everything worked out that way !
