Rear Shocks

I have found a some shocks pretty cheap near me on Craigslist. Unfortunately they are Harley shocks. It has occurred to me that the shock "eye" may not be the correct size. I am wondering if anyone else has used shocks from a different bike or if hey eye sizes are universal?

I believe some have used VTX shocks.
Remember not only the eye, but different shocks are different lengths, diameters, and spring strength...

Valkyrie shocks will work too.

I'm thinking about lowering the Ghetto Valk..  If I have it right the "412" shocks fit the Valk and are shorter correct?
