So I am actually taking a few moments to replace my front forks after my little fender-bender. Ran into a slight issue. Im no dummy when it comes to fork seals, (on other bikes) but the magna forks are throwing me for a loop. I have a manual for my '96 and following everything to a "T", but the picture doesnt show which way the bevel on the "back up ring" goes. Anyone able to help me out here? Feeling like a "tard"

Thanks,
Junior

To be honest, I don't remember a bevel but this picture may help.  I took it when I first separated my forks ...

Well instead of using my head from the start... i had an idea!!! Why not just use the old forks for comparison...Well turns out that this beveled washer doesnt belong with them at all! Who'da thunk! But Forks are now back together...THE RIGHT WAY!!
Thanks for pic!!

Junior!!

P.S. For the first time since I got the bike, it has straight forks!! Totally different ride!!

I'm just glad I didn't overlook something important when I reassembled mine :)  Hope all goes well with your rebuild!
