Has anyone had experience with these chains and would you recommend or not recommend.  I have had my magna approximately 10 months and need to replace the chain.  Its a '94 with 19,000 miles, mainly used for commuting from Huntsville to Houston, but I do enjoy riding on the weekends as well.  Thanks

It's  a non-branded O-Ring chain, personal preference is a branded X-Ring  chain, of the branded I would recommend a DID.

On one of my around town bikes I am trying this one with pretty good success, on my main ride I would use the DID.

there are even cheaper 530x120 oring chains that just need one set of links removed.

You can now get a DID 118 link chain, no cutting, install and ride.  :-P

Yeah, except the part of getting the stock one off, and swedging the masterlink on

It really helps to have a good body grinder or such, and a chain break tool.

Exactly! Almost worth paying someone else with all the tools to do it..

$10 tool is all you need.  You can also use a 20% off coupon and make it $8. Or take it to a shop that will charge you $80/ hour, usually 1/2 hour minimum plus might take 2 weeks to get to it.  Also many shops will only install parts they sell you and claim their insurance does not cover custom parts or parts not acquired via the shops procurement policy.

if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, then take it in.

The first replacement chain I bought for my '99 was an RK premium oring chain, and I only got about 14k miles out of it, whereas the stock DID chain got 23k miles. I went back to DID and bought the premium xring and ever since then I get 20k plus miles.
After many chains I just rolled the odometer over to 150k miles today.  I normally change the sprockets every other new chain, but I have changed the sprockets back to back if worn.
