After installing my horn, the plastic part that holds the choke cable knob has broken...
1) does a choke cable come with the mounting plastic piece?
2) can you replace the cable without major carb removal etc...

1) Don't know
2) yes, it can be done wthout carb removal, but it does take some light touch and small hands depending on if you come at it from the top or the front.  Sorry, few details as I replaced mine several years ago, just remember that I DID NOT remove the cab bank to do it.

If you over tighten it it will break every time. It's just a plastic threaded rod. A bit of a design flaw really

Mine is a 94, so it's old to start with... I'm not sure what happened to it..
After installing a horn on the same side, I took the bike for a ride and noticed the choke didn't stay out... When I went to tighten it, the nut just spun around and around, SO.. it broke.. When, how, I'm not sure.. One is being ordered for me tomorrow from the local Honda shop..
It kills me since I'm have access to prices (since I'm a marine dealer) and it goes to the dealer for between 13 and 14 bucks... 24 buck to me..
Because I'm a marine dealer, I can't order the part....

Hey Hootmon, I found mine broke in a similar manner after bringing it home from the shop after some unrelated repairs.  I super glued the threaded part that had sheared off, back onto the remaining plastic base.  The repair has lasted many years now, although I am a little more careful with it than I used to be.  I see you already ordered a new one.
