Sorry if this question seems silly to you guys, it's been 20 years since I owned a bike.

2 month ago, I bought a 94 Magna.  Since then I have put 1000 miles on it.  It now has 13,500 miles on it.  My question is - what type of maintenance work should I be performing on it now?

Well I would have to say make sure to change the oil regularly and lube the chain every 300 or 400 miles. Might check the plugs and airfilter other than that be safe ride and have fun. Oh one more thing if you can not see in your mastercylinder  on the handle bars thru the sightglass then it is time to change the fluid in there too..

Just like Allen said, the coolant and brake fluid are supposed to be changed every 2 years regardless of the mileage.

It might not hurt to get the front wheel off the ground, move the handle bars left and right and push on them, just make sure the steering head bearings aren't loose.

Watch your mileage and if it's not very good then you might want to think about ajusting the idle mixture and/or syncing the carbs.  But check the plugs and air filter before you do any of that.  Most of us get around 40-45 mpg if we're just commuting and alot less if we're having fun. :)
