Put the new Avon Venom R on the front of the Valk and although I have not ridden more than a mile or so to scrub off the mold release.  It already feels much better than the Metzeler did.  
I think I am going to LOVE the Avon's!

Good luck on this set.  I know the Avons are my favorite, although the Elite III rear I have on now is not bad.  For the first time, I'm tempted to try the car tire on the rear.  I don't know what's up with me, getting restless or something.  If I ever fulfill my dream of riding to Alaska it will be on a car tire just for the ability not to have to change tires during the trip.  Also, the car tire is reported to make the Valk more stable on gravel.

Speaking of restless, I did the Ragnar cut on my pipes yesterday.  It's LOUD, especially when I get down on it.  I can already tell I'm not going to like it though.  I don't mind the extra volume, but the sound is not smooth like before.  It is more raspy.  I guess the only thing to do now is buy a set of truck stacks and go to the glass pack mod! he he he

I'll probably come to the wrench session instead of riding all the way to Houston to watch Jeff play (as bad as I'd like to), so you'll be able to listen to it.

Ahhhh restless to the point of breaking the old saying, "if its not broke then dont fix it"  hehehehe.  I have done that many times LoL.
I thought your previous mod was pretty awesome!  But hey we would never know anything about mods such as this if someone didnt get restless, LoL.
I dont think I will ever go the car tire route, I have have major reservations with the sidewall and lack of lean engineered in it.  I mean a bike tire's carcass is designed for the lean.
I think I will be a Venom rider from now on, if it continues to ride this well.
