V65 Owners? HORNS?

Have any of the V65 owners around here changed their horns to aftermarket?  Just wanted to see what some others have done.  I want to go to something a good bit louder (that works).

I guess that it is all in one neat package.  Does it just run off of electricity?  Sorry, I'm not familiar with how these things work.  Looks like a bargain for the sound it produces.  Thanks for the heads up.

As far as I know it's almost as easy as plug and play but you may need to install a relay to prevent it from overloading the horn circuit. I know a guy who installed one on his bike. I'll ask him what he did, but it will be a few days before I hear anything.

that sells for less than $15.  I put it on my 94 Magna and it was a simple job of removing the Honda horn and connecting the new horn to the same wire connectors.  They have both a low pitch and high pitch horn.  I used the high pitch horn and it does get peoples attention when you use it.

I installed one on my 2000 and it is really loud.  I didn't get the air horn, I got the electric one that also blasts at 139db.  I bought mine on ebay for $12.95 with a slight scratch.  Haven't seen them that cheap lately.  You definitely want to install a relay with it to protect your horn switch.

Harbor Freight has 138 decible horns for less than $15 and they bolt on where the original horn was and no additional wiring is required.

For you Vintage Magna owners out there!  I found out about some horns that can be purchased at Advance Auto Parts that are "plug and play" on our bikes.  They are FIAMM high and low note horns.  The part number is C40310 for the High note and D40365 for the Low note.  They are 130 decibels and require nothing but bolting on and plugging the wires on.  Some have put their chrome rings back on for looks, but my horns are hidden behind my Rifle fairing so I didn't bother.  Very loud and very attention getting and VERY easy to install.  Right up my alley.

This is an old thread but I'll give a little update.

I purchased the after market horns from the post above. They went on easy. The only down side was that I was unable to mount my chrome trim rings. To make up for it I painted them black to blend in.

I installed Fiamm Freeway Blasters on my 83. They are sort of a conch shell shape, spiral air chamber. I mounted them on my crash bar. Maybe not the best cosmetic appearance but I was after loud. Sounds like Grandpa's old Delta 98. I love sneaking up in people's blind spot who are gabbing on their cell phone and honking them. It makes me smile when they freak out thinking they are about to be run down.
