Rear shocks

Does anyone know if third gen rear shocks can be put on an 87 ? Even if it means a little modification or will anything else fit? thanks

Charles I believe you have to change out the tops.  Most folks are putting VTX and Valkyrie shocks on the Supers, but again you have to change the top.

Thanks Greg, I thought they broke down but was not sure the parts  would interchange. I'm hoping someone has an extra shock left over from an up grade or replacement they will sell. I just needed to know if I had any other choices besides the 87 .Thanks again for your help.

Charles I actually have a set here, they are well used by functional.  Next time you in the Dallas area let me know and you can take a look at them.

I plan on getting out to the Celina area in a couple of days. I've just replaced the fork seals and I'm getting my headlight brkt and headlight ring rechromed along with the KG slider grab rails, so I'm getting a little low on my bike allowance if you'll give me an idea how much you'll want I'll try to scrap it up. I have the chance to buy a really nice 97 if I can get my 87 sold in time. That's why I'm trying to get it back in good shape in a hurry. I'm thinking of asking $2800.00 think thats too much I replaced front and rear tires fork seals and  new paint and as I said i've got the headlight brkt and rim being rechromed .I'm keeping the memphis shades and KG slider backrest if it will fit 97. let me know what you think

Not sure how much life these have left, in appearance they are probably a 5 or maybe a 6.  
I have seen VTX shocks go for low as $50 on Ebay and such and they look mucho better with the chrome covers.  
For these I have, you come and get em I will let ya have them, I am not going to use them for anything, LoL.

Greg are the shocks for the 87 still available? I noticed an extra set offered with the 87 your selling. I'm either going to come after the shocks are going to Murfreesboro to the water park for my grandsons birthday Saturday. If you've decided to let the shocks go with the bike just let me know.
