I think the dealership will do that for you because it's a service bulletin. Supposedly if it's already been done to a 94 they center punch a mark near the VIN number.

you really think so the bike is 12 years old with 11000 miles. it hasn't been done because there is no punch mark but I will check it out with honda.

I'm not for sure. There may be a fine line between service bulletins and recalls. It may also depend upon the dealership. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have never heard of any having failures to this point, give Dave Dodge a call and see what he says??

From everything I have ever read the repair is strictly to silence the noise and no engine damage will occur if it's not done.  FWIW, unless it's something that just drives you totally nuts and you can't live with it then I wouldn't worry about doing it.  But hey, that's just me

Plus, something about some yahoo mechanic poking around in a 12 year old engine he's probably never seen or worked on before doesn't sound promising to me.....lol

I have heard about the same thing about no one having a problem with it, it's just kind of hard to ignore it. I will give dave dodge a call and get his advise and try my best to ignore it. The bike runs great just has that annoying knock once in a while. Thanks for the info.
