Hello everyone,
I just traded car for 84 Honda Magna 700 v45 , the  motor was rebuilt and it sit for around 5 years not being used. I got it cranked and it runs good with exception of needing new plug wires and electric fuel pump (which come on every now and then). I put it on main kickstand today to get tire off ground to check clutch and started it and put it in first gear but no pressure on clutch lever so did not want to try other gears for fear I would hurt something. The tire was spinning but when I pulled in on lever it did nothing? Tire kept going like still in gear. What do I check and where would it be located on bike.
I am going to get repair book but have to order one as none in Jonesboro Arkansas that I can find at this time. Thanks,

Ronnie

PS. This has shaft drive. Also I did open cap above clutch lever and looked to be plenty of fluid in there if this is for clutch.

Ronnie the clutch resevoir is up by the lever and looks just like the brake master cylinder, as you have already found.
Might try and get a mity-mini vac and flush/bleed the system to see if their is junk in it.  There is also a extremely tiny hole in the bottom of the cylinder away from the return orifice that allows the piston to move back to the resting position.
As we have seen here on a brake issue that tiny orifice can get clogged and things dont work correctly.  One of out MOOT'sters Lowell showed us and used a small wire out of a wire bristle brush to clean it out, things worked great then.
Give this a try and see if it helps you out at all.  Also remember when the bike is on the centerstand and the back tire is off the ground the wheel will turn some as there is just enough "drag" to turn it.
Hope some of this helps.

When you hear the fuel pump working it is repressureizeing the line and replaceing any fuel used so yours sounds like it is operateing properly.

The rear tire will spin until the engine oil heats up and is normal also.

Hi new to the forum but sounds like maybe the clutch discs are stuck if you have a jack could jack it up just a little and start the bike making sure it is in neutral and hit the rear brake this should free them up... there are other more drastic ways to do this trick but those are for later if that is the problem...
