Title: Is bigger better?
Post by: dc112675 on February 25, 2007, 02:18:36 PM
Sorry to bother you guys but this whole headlight thing has me confused, and I was hoping you could enlighten me.   After doing a search on ebay, I realized there are quite a few possibilites.  The first is the VTX, but it is rare to find and usually comes at a steep price.  Someone here said they got one for $125, but that seems to be the exception, as most are selling at double that price.

However, there are several generic (non OEM) nice looking ones out there, but I am not sure what size to get.  It seems as though there are two basic sizes: 4 1/2" x 7" & 5 3/4" x 9" . . . any opinions on which size to get.  Being from TX, bigger is better when it comes to cheeseburgers, engines, and backyards . . . but is that the same for headlights?

A headlight too big is like a pee-wee football player with a helmet on . . . it looks like an ant carrying a gumball.  Which size do you prefer?  Thanks for shedding some light on the subject.  dc

I dont know about the non OEM units but I can say that the VTX reflector is much better than that of the Magna stock unit and therefore much brighter...
