Title: Forward Controls
Post by: greggo on August 01, 2005, 09:54:06 AM
I have a 1995 VF750C.  Being tall and long legged, I would like to install forward controls so I can strech out a bit.
Has anyone here installed them, what type are they and are there any pros and cons regarding them.
Thanks,
Greggo

There are few here that use them and seem to really like them.  I am sure they will answer up with their information.
One day I will get around to getting a set for my Super, you have to modify the 3rd generation Magna forwards to fit, LoL.

There are two different options for forwards controls, Jardine and Mapam/Restyling.  The Jardine controls look fantastic but are pricey ($600+) and they move your feet up as well as forward which I think is counterproductive.  The Mapam's are what most people use and you most commonly see.  They can be had from www.bikercom.com for around $300.  This company is in Italy but the shipping is lightning fast.  The only issue is that if you have a problem you have to deal with people halfway across the globe.  There is also a seller on eBay that sells them for roughly about the same price as well as www.cruisercustomizing.com I think.

I have used the Mapam's on my '96 for a couple years and love them.  Pretty well made and no installation issues.  Well worth the money for those of us with longer inseams.
