I finally got Betty out and cleaned her up for the first ride of the year. It has been nice here and I was anxious to feel some power under me after a long winter. She was a bit hard to start but finally seemed warm enough for a spin. I pulled the clutch lever and CLUNKED it into first. Engine died right away.
I think I need to repair the master cylinder. There seems to be a leak at the pivot point of the lever and since there is no fluid there I figured it came from the piston or plunger inside the master.
Does that seem reasonable? If so, is there a rebuild kit for it? Think I should try to refill and bleed it out or just take it apart?
Thanks.
Here is one on ebay.... http://tinyurl.com/3x9k6u
I think the price is a little high but it's been a while since I bought one.
Thanks for the link Jeff. I don't know if it is expensive or not either. I guess I should look around a little but time is of the essence. It says break rebuild kit but I doubt there is a difference on the parts. I will check that out too.
Thanks again.
Ooops I goofed, this is the right one for the clutch....

Thanks again Jeff. I just got an email from the same place saying there is a difference and they shall look it up. You seem to have done that for me already. I guess I could have when I was at the site. Had to get a round bale of hay for the horses though so had to split.
I ordered the rebuild kit from a local dealer, not Honda. I cost me $1 more than from on line. I figured it wouldn't break me and should be here early next week. When it happened, the long range weather looked poor so wasn't too anxious about it. Weather was wrong and I've suffered terrible mental trauma from the lack of my ride. Hopefully I'll but on the move soon.
