ok so at my age, (21) no one takes me too seriously about the kind of bike i ride i guess cause everyone my age has those damn crotch rocket things haahaa... and well ive been wanting to flash my bike up and lil bit and throw on some foward controls and get a new seat.. i sat in a corbin gunfighter seat and just about fell in love but i want a backseat on there and i saw the gunfighter and lady setup but dont like the sissybar mounted on there.. so my question for yall is, can you take the sissy bar off of the back seat?? also i dont like the back rest on the front and can you take that one off too??
okay moving on... forward controls!!! what good brands of forward control are?? nothing too bulky, just like the stock setup but pushed out would be awesome.. also with the forward controls, is it hard to put on crash bars or do you have to get a certain kind?? for those who saw my bike when i rode with yall, we all talked about my crash bars and i still have been waiting to get forward controls before i got some new crash bars..
okay and finally!!!
exhaust... now when people see my bike what do you think the first thing is that comes out of there mouth... "you need to make that thing sound like a harley!!" well you know what?? i hate that statment more than anything!! SO!! i am wondering if there any exhaust systems out there that sound nothing like a harley but will be heard a mile away?? and i also heard that i would have to do some carb work upon installing new exhaust... is that true?? OMG i hope there is a wrencher coming up!!
any help would be SOO greately appreciated.. thanks
Wade

On the Gunfighter and Lady setup you describe? In a word, no. The driver's backrest is just an option and the seat requires a backrest for mounting. However, I do know of a Magna owner that contacted Corbin directly and had them build a Corbin with a more substanial rear seat. It looked just like a normal gunfighter but with a somewhat larger and squared off passenger section. Looked really good and in no way distracted from the gunfighter look. I have no idea of the price.
Forward controls comes in two flavors. Jardines, which run almost $600, or Mapam forwards which run about $300 from several eBay dealers. Other places carry them (Cruiser Customizing, etc.) but you will pay more. The Jardines will not fit with any forward controls and the Mapams will fir with the smaller Hondaline guards but not the larger MC Enterprises guard.
As far as pipes, there is another current thread going on this topic so check it out for the scoop. Hope this helps.
I have the Mapam forward controls and love them. Much cheaper and just as nice (IMHO) as the Jardines. Don't know about the fitment of engine guards, but I think Jimmy answered that for you.
I also have the gunfighter seat and really like it. I think the single looks much better that any of the two-up seats, but again, my opionion. If you don't do a lot of two-up riding, you might want to keep the factory seats and swap them out when you need them. It just takes a couple of minutes.
There is a mod to the factory baffles (look under tips and tricks) that makes the original pipes louder. Some like the sound, some don't. I did it to mine and went back to the original. To me, loud pipes are very annoying and tiring on a long ride. Besides, it make it easier to sneak up on a Harley and smoke him.
While I am a whole decade older, I consider myself a young guy. That being said I do not want my bike to look like a 2 wheeled RV (no offense to you guys that prefer such accessories). To me, saddle bags are to a motorcycle what a camper shell is to a truck. For that reason my add-ons are to make the bike look more sporty . . . Corbin Gunfighter seat, Corbin straight exhaust, Mapam Forward controls, Chopper style headlight, billet mirrors, etc.
Even so, I am still a "form follows function" kinda guy (meaning looks aren't as important as if it works) and most of my changes accomplish that. At 6'2" the Mapam Forward Controls were the best investment for the bike, and the gunfighter seat adds style and comfort too. The headlight makes the bike look better and I can see better with it too (at least that was my reasoning when I bought it). The mirrors look cool, but function wise they stink. I'm getting used to them but they are awful small. Also, I don't know about your tires, but a wider tire (170/80) looks better than the original 150/80 on it
I say all of that to say you have a good set of accessories planned ahead. Price-wise just those 3 accessories you mentioned will run you almost $1,000. But without a wife to answer to or a set of mouths to feed that money comes easier. Good luck, dc
you know what though, the only reason why i do want the double seat is because i do want the comfort but at the same time i go out to bars and with my bright red and shiny chrome, and the four exhaust pipes, i get a lot of attention already, and a lot of girls wanna ride lol!! and i wanna throw them up on the back lol i dont want to tell the ill be right back.. but at the same time i do travel from place to place by myself... i wonder how much that seat that GLOVBERG mentioned about that custom seat cost cause that is prolly what im more interested in as far as seats go... thanks guys for yalls help and anymore would be awesome!!
Baddogstyles.com has your forward controls for $292.49 here: http://www.baddogstyles.com/scripts/prodList.asp Part number MM-HM2041PVF7 My best friend just bought some for the Magna I sold to him and he got them real fast.
On the seat, reading what your aim is.............the smaller the pillion pad, the tighter they'll squeeze you, right?

Just for an idea this is that guys Corbin he ordered with the enhanced passenger area. Could have done without the studs but that's a personal thing.

oh yeah the studs NEED to go but see.. even still i think it is too bulky!!! idk maybe i just need to sit on the thing and see.. hell ill just go buy all of them!!!
I have a Corbin seat. On the Honda stock seat, I would always get a sore back. That doesn't happen with the Corbin. You sit lower and your bottom feels like it is supported especially in the lower back..........I have also installed forward controls. With those, I don't feel I will ever need another bike. They are comfortable look good and easily installed. I paid ard. $290 for them...........Finally, I took the muffler baffles out and sawed them off. The sound is all I want. Any louder and I would wake up the neighborhood.
