Title: throttle cable
Post by: Jerry G Turner on May 05, 2007, 05:41:21 PM
Got up this morning was going to go to the wrench session at Gregs started up my bike and twisted the throttle and pop cable broke. The manual says that you have to partically remove the carbs in order to replace has anyone replaced the cable on a 86 VF700 that maybe knows some tricks in order to get it done without taking the carbs loose any help would be appreciated. I did find a replacement cable on line the honda shop said that they done make them any more. I did get it off without taking the carbs loose.

I just sold a new set of cables(push & pull) recently for the V45. Check Motion Pro's website they should have them, under the "Black Vinyl OE Replacement Cables" link.

Well after waiting 2 weeks for the cable they sent the wrong one I found a salvage yard in the DFW area that had one, went and got it and I managed to get it on without partically removing the carbs it is a little difficult but with a bit of patients and only a small amount of cruzing it can be done. I ordered the parts from mrcycle not only are they very slow in shipping they sent the wrong part. I do not recommend them for your v45 needs.
