Title: Leatherlyke rubber seal problem
Post by: rjb/AKA Bob Barram on June 29, 2007, 09:04:18 AM
The Leatherlykes have a rubber seal that goes around the top of the base of the bag. That attaches to a plastic (?) piece that attaches to the rim of the base bag. The rubber seal has seperated from the plastic piece. I am looking for a good adhesive that will re-attach the rubber to the plastic.
Any ideas on an adhesive or solution used by someone else for this problem?
I can buy the unit from leatherlyke for $10, but then what do I do with the old piece?

I'm just throwing this out there. But what about rubber cement?

I'm with Len on the rubber cement. It holds well, any mess can be rubbed off after it dries. Shoud it need to be done again, there won't be irresistibel residue to mess with and it will come out easily.

Although $10 doesn't sound that outrageous even for a pauper like myself. They will probably send a little tube of rubber cement along with it, or whatever they use to secure it.

Well, I tried some adhesive I had laying around and it sure was messy! The rubber seal would not stay in place. I am ordering on Monday!
Thanks for the input/ideas!
